Music Ministry
Kristie has been singing for about fifteen years. This has been her passion since she was
a young child. She was raised up on music. Due to her mom and dad's and their families musical talents, she was brought up listening to gospel and country music.
Although Kristie's dream was to one day be a singer, she was extremely shy. Over the years, though, God eventually brought her through that. Although she sang a little in church, she mostly focused on singing in secular venues. Her vocal gift from God was being used but NOT for Him.
She struggled to find her "purpose" and always felt that it was to sing and write. Throughout
her "search", she achieved some great experiences and worked with extremely talented musicians (opened up for some major acts). However, she was finding out that it was not meant
for her to be in those areas of music. Eventually, in late 2002, she stopped singing.
Then some things occurred that changed her mind. While playing softball, she was hit in the throat with the ball. Although she was not injured, this did make her think: Is God trying to tell me
that he can take away my gift of singing just as easily as he blessed me with it? This really
caused her to think and pray for God to show her what her purpose was. In Sept, 2002, she went on a Women's Ministry retreat. She prayed that God would reveal to her what it was that she was meant to do. The main speaker at the retreat was a prophetess. Kristie tried getting close to the woman so that the woman might pray over Kristie and give her a word from the Lord. Every time Kristie would get near her, the woman would go in the opposite direction and pray over someone else. Kristie was feeling discouraged. Then, out of nowhere, a man (there was only a handful of men there) came up to her and said that God wanted him to pray for her. He then began praying in an unknown language. He then told Kristie "God wants you to know that your song is back." This was totally exciting!!!! Kristie did not know this man, and he had no clue that she was a singer. So, that night, she got her confirmation from the Lord that, indeed, he has called her to try and reach others through her music. Although she has been a little stubborn, this is what she intends to do. Please pray the she will do God's will. God bless you all!
